Welcome to SASA-Student Association for STEM Advocacy

Cayden graduated from Valencia High School in Santa Clarita, California, and is currently studying Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles.

In high school, Cayden was deeply involved with robotics, starting FTC Team 12675, the Hermit Social Club in their garage in 2017. They were captain of the team through their last three years in high school, and mentored newer teammates on programming and strategy. Cayden was also the President of Valencia High School’s Speech and Debate team for two years, and Vice-President of its FRC Team, Team 8060, Command B, for one year. In their last year of high school, Cayden joined SASA as an intern helping to produce our monthly newsletters.

Now Cayden is a second-year undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they are a member of the Debate Union at UCLA’s travel team, on which they won the novice division of the 2023 United States Universities Debating Championship, the largest British Parliamentary debating tournament in the United States. They are also one of the two directors for the California Association of STEM Advocacy Clubs, which hosted its first statewide advocacy conference in January, 2023.

Cayden has worked as SASA’s Newsletter Editor since August 2022, and is always looking for ways to make the newsletter more informative and engaging. If you have any feedback on how we can improve your newsletter experience, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]
