Conference Overview

On September 6th and September 7th, 2025, the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA) is proud to present the Texas Advocacy Conference (TAC). Attendees only need to attend the event in one city, where the same event is being run twice in two days – one day in Houston and one day in Dallas. Each ticket is only valid for the city it was purchased for. During conference day, attendees will learn about the structure of the Texas government, how to conduct an effective advocacy meeting, and more! All non-member registrations include an annual membership!

2/3 Day of Training – Either 9/6/25 (Houston) or 9/7/25 (Dallas)

  • 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM – Registration and Breakfast
  • 9:15 AM to 9:30 AM – Conference Welcome
  • 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM – Education in Texas
  • 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM – Texas State Legislature
  • 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM – Break and Networking
  • 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM – Advocacy 101
  • 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM – Trivia
  • 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM – Effective Meetings
  • 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM – Lunch and Meeting Practice
  • 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM – Conference Conclusion and Final Questions

Advocacy Days

Occurs 1-2 weeks after conference adjournment in legislators’ district offices.
