Welcome to SASA-Student Association for STEM Advocacy

Megan Volkening is a member of the FIRST Wisconsin Board of Directors, supporting and advancing FIRST programs throughout the state. She graduated from Greendale High School, where she founded FRC 8701 GRAFFITI and won the Rookie All-Star award at the 2022 Championship. After attending the National Advocacy Conference in 2019 and discovering her passion for advocacy, Megan co-founded the Wisconsin FIRST Advocacy Committee. She now co-leads the committee, hosting an annual conference with nearly 200 attendees, contributing to a $250,000 increase in K-12 robotics funding in Wisconsin. In her fourth year with the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA), she is currently leading the Florida and New Jersey SASA Advocacy Conferences. Megan is studying mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with plans to become a patent attorney.
