Conference Overview

On November 1st, 2025, the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA) is excited to present the New York Advocacy Conference (NYAC) presented by FIRST Robotics Competition Team 1511. NYAC empowers students to influence STEM education policies by teaching them how to conduct an effective advocacy meeting, the structure of the New York state government, and more! Participants will gain hands-on training and will be given all the tools necessary to push for the growth of STEM programs. You can choose to attend NYAC in person or virtually! • 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM – Registration and Breakfast
• 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM – Introduction
• 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM – Advocacy 101
• 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM – Break and Networking
• 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM – The New York State Legislature
• 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM – Education in New York
• 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM – Effective Meetings
• 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM – Trivia
• 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM – Lunch and Meeting Practice
• 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM – Conference Conclusion and Final Questions

Advocacy Day – TBD

• Occurs 1-2 weeks after conference adjournment in legislators’ district offices
